  • Cody Balmer, suspected of setting fire to the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion in Harrisburg, Pa. on April 13, 2025, told police that Gov. Josh Shapiro must know that he “will not take part in his plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people,” per a warrant.
  • The suspect also told 911 operators that he had to “stop having my friends killed.” 
  • The District Attorney who is prosecuting the case said he has not decided yet whether he will charge Balmer with “ethnic intimidation” Pennsylvania’s hate crime statute—but said he will argue that Balmer’s motives should make his sentencing more severe if he is convicted. Read More
