  • A U.S. Navy service member, Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, pleaded guilty to federal felony offenses for transmitting sensitive U.S. military information to a Chinese intelligence officer in exchange for bribes. Zhao admitted to participating in a corrupt scheme in violation of his official duties.
  • The information transmitted included details about U.S. Navy operational security, military training and exercises, critical infrastructure, plans for a large-scale maritime training exercise in the Pacific, operational orders, and electrical diagrams and blueprints for a radar system in Okinawa, Japan.
