- Robert Jacob Hoopes, 24, of Portland, Ore., pleaded guilty Feb. 18 to aggravated assault of a federal employee with a dangerous weapon in connection with a protest outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Portland.
- According to court documents, Hoopes threw a large rock that struck an ICE officer in the head during a June 14, 2025, demonstration that authorities later declared a riot.
- Prosecutors also said Hoopes and two other individuals used a stop sign as a battering ram to damage the entrance of the federal building later that night. READ MORE
