  • A federal grand jury in Phoenix indicted Ian William Moses, 35, of Mesa, Ariz., on five counts of maliciously damaging property and vehicles in interstate commerce by means of fire, following an arson attack on a Tesla dealership in Mesa on April 28, 2025.
  • Moses was captured on video at the Tesla dealership, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black mask, and carrying a red gas can. He placed fire starter logs next to the building, poured gasoline on them and three Tesla vehicles, and ignited a fire at 1:38 a.m., destroying a silver Tesla Cybertruck. Surveillance footage showed him fleeing on a bicycle.
  • Mesa police arrested Moses around 3 a.m., a quarter-mile from the dealership, wearing the same clothes. Officers found a hand-drawn map in his pocket with a “T” marking the dealership’s location. Read More
