- The investigation was prompted by a complaint filed in 2019 by an Oberlin College graduate, Melissa Landa, who cited various incidents of antisemitism at the school, including allegations against a tenured peace studies and religion professor, Mohammad Jafar Mahallati, who is accused of supporting Hamas and promoting anti-Israel sentiments in his classes.
