NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - 2023/10/13: Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gather in support of the Palestinian people during an "International Day of Action for Palestine". On October 7 the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a large-scale surprise attack from Gaza, launching thousands of missiles and sending at least 1,500 fighters by land, sea and air into Israel. At least 1,300 Israelis have been confirmed killed and 150 kidnapped. 1,203 Palestinians in Gaza are also confirmed killed.   • Protests in Bay Ridge, N.Y., turned violent, with NYPD officers using an LRAD sound cannon against demonstrators, and some officers struck by thrown objects like eggs and fireworks.
  • Nineteen adults and three juveniles were charged, and several people were issued summonses for disorderly conduct.
  • The protest was organized by the group Within Our Lifetime, a New York City-based anti-Israel group with a history of harassing and making violent threats toward Jews.
