On Sunday, 27-year-old Alice Elizabeth Johnson was arrested for her part in a violent Antifa riot in Portland, Oregon. Her booking charge states she was arrested for interfering with a peace officer, which an Oregon statute describes as
“(a) Intentionally acts in a manner that prevents, or attempts to prevent, a peace officer or parole and probation officer from performing the lawful duties of the officer with regards to another person; or
(b) Refuses to obey a lawful order by the peace officer or parole and probation officer.”
According to journalist Andy Ngo, Johnson is also a life skills coach who works with foster youth.

If true, there’s a gaping question of what “life skills” are being taught to foster youth and by whom.
First, there’s the issue of Johnson’s extremist behavior as demonstrated by her arrest during a violent Antifa riot. Second, Johnson is also not the image of stability given several disturbing photos including one on her Instagram account where she’s posing as the devil.
This case points to the ease with which youth are mentored or influenced by questionable figures. Vulnerable kids are low-hanging fruit for radicals. Foster children, one of the most vulnerable of all population groups among children, need stability and deserve mentors who do not pose any risk of pushing ideological indoctrination or extremism.
Clarion Project’s Preventing Violent Extremism Training Program was founded on the idea that we have to protect our kids from ideological indoctrination and its subsequent radicalization. Normally, when we think of the types of ideological indoctrination being pushed on kids, race or religious supremacism comes to mind.
The case of Johnson shows there’s another threat to kids: Antifa and its anarchist doctrines.
