Why did Secretary of State Mike Pompeo really visit Lebanon over the last few days?

Washington is very unhappy with Hezbollah’s increased role in Beirut’s government, especially given that the State Department designated the Iranian-backed Hezbollah as a terror organization.

But as we hear from Clarion’s Arab Affairs Analyst and Shillman Fellow Ran Meir, at least one newspaper is suggesting a very different agenda for Pompeo’s visit.
