Clarion Project’s Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) program focuses on cultivating creating greater awareness among the influencers in a child’s life: parents, educators, community leaders and law enforcement.
The program first discusses the beginnings stages of youth radicalization — as seen through social, emotional and psychological lens — before it reaches criminal stages. The program then gives insight into what makes people vulnerable — specifically identifying what dangerous ideologies feed on in order to manipulate others into be vessels to further drive their ideologies.
These ideologies are what provide the framework to meet the emotional and psychological needs of these vulnerable individuals.
They are profoundly unhealthy — both for the individual and society at large — but are designed to be immensely appealing and gratifying in the short to medium run.
Clarion Project’s PVE training program teaches communities how to:
- Identify the factors that drive extremism
- Identify when someone may be susceptible to one or more of these
- Approach each factor and engage the individual affected
These workshops provide education in preventative strategies that help reduce the risk of youth being drawn toward extremism. Our training program is designed to give the tools to community leaders, parents and educators to be able to step in before a recruiter has activated the individual as a conduit for their extremist ideology.
Clarion’s PVE program is not simply a set of lecture. It is an experience. We immerse you into the hearts and minds of these ideological drivers and the victims who suffer from them, using video storytelling and the like.
We also provide ongoing education through webinars and a growing network of professionals who are plugged into Clarion Project’s PVE network.
Ideological radicalization affects us all. No one should have to stand alone to fight it without support from others that share like-minded goals.
