There are many in the U.S. who believe we should stop funding the United Nations. It’s a wasteful organization that largely ignores and even fights against U.S. foreign policy, they say. If we remove the 22 percent the U.S. contributes to the U.N. budget, they argue, the New-York based body will have to seriously rethink the way it operates.
