After an uphill battle, UK (United Kingdom) had its first FGM conviction with latest news revealing it came with over a decade of jail time. Female genital mutilation (FGM) survivor and activist Kadi Doumbia shares why she believes America should be next in successfully prosecuting against genital cutting.

She says she simply doesn’t understand how the accused were released in the recent FGM case in Detroit.
