Two men from Raleigh, North Carolina, have been sentenced to seven and nine years in prison, respectively, after pleading guilty to attempting to join terrorist groups in the Middle East.
Avin Brown and Akba Jordan, both 23, discussed plans to travel to Syria or Yemen to kill non-Muslims with an FBI informant. They were arrested in 2014 and have both pleaded guilty.
Brown was sentenced to seven years and Jordan was sentenced to nine years imprisonment.
