Hamas’ war against Israel had made some Egyptians, normally known to be virulently anti-Israel, praise Israel’s fight against the terrorist organization.
Azza Sami, the assistant editor of Al-Ahram, Egypt’s leading newspaper, used her Twitter feed to courageously say, “May we see lots more from your good deeds, [Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin] Netanyahu. May our Lord make lots of people like you to eliminate Hamas — the Muslim Brotherhoood’s source for corruption, betrayal and treason [against Egypt].”
Egyptians recently elected an anti-Muslim Brotherhood, anti-Hamas President, Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, by an overwhelming majority. The country also declared the Muslim Brotherhood and its Gaza wing, Hamas, to be terrorist organizations out to destroy Egypt.
Journalist Hayah Al Dardiri, a journalist speaking on Egypt Today said, “The Egyptian people want their armed forces to hit the nests of terror in Gaza strip and destroy Hamas through harsh military actions. We won't forget the day it [Hamas/the Muslim Brotherhood] hurt the honor of Egypt when their militias attacked the prisons [releasing terrorists] and killed innocent people in Tahrir square.” (See video below)
Not to appear pro-Israel, Dardiri journalist concluded that Hamas was really in cohorts with Israel to destroy Egypt, saying, “We gave all the documentation proving that Hamas was involved with actions to bring down Egypt in a way that helps B'nei Yisrael (referring to the state of Israel).”
