Damian was a regular Canadian teenager who became radicalized and eventually went to Syria where his life ended fighting as a jihadist. Rather than burying this episode, his mother, Christianne, founded Mothers for Life to look out for families in similar positions.

The organization is now truly international. Many of the initial recipients, who received wisdom from Christianne and her co-founder Daniel Koehler, are now running Mothers for Life branches in their own countries.

Christianne is one of the main interviewees in Clarion’s new film, “Kids: Chasing Paradise.” She spoke to Clarion’s David Harris about the film and her groundbreaking work.
