Four Reasons To Support Cash for Women College Grads

The Indian government announced it will give 51,000 rupees ($800) as a wedding gift to Muslim women who complete university- or college-level education, according to local media outlet The Daily Hunt. The gift will come from the Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF), a body set up to promote education among minorities in India. The MAEF is funded by the central government.

The MAEF also announced it will fund additional scholarships of 10,000 rupees to Muslim schoolgirls in 9th and 10th grade.
