The Islamic State is planning multiple attacks on tourists this summer at holiday locations in France, Spain and Italy, according to reports in a German newspaper. The reports, published in Bild, say the intelligence originated from a “credible source” in Africa who says “concrete plans” exist for the attacks.
Posing as refugees, terrorists are plotting to infiltrate Europe and gain access to holiday locations. From there, they plan to get jobs selling ice cream and T-Shirts. The source said suicide vests will be detonated, while bombs will be buried under lounge chairs on the beach.
The Bild reports also say the terrorists will attack beach crowds with automatic weapons. As one German official commented, "It could be a whole new dimension of terror. Holiday beaches cannot be protected."
