The Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) was originally a branch of the Muslim Students Association.[1]

The website’s article on its history acknowledges the contribution of Dr. Ahmed Elkadi, specifically mentioning that he was the program director, receptionist and slide projectionist of an IMANA convention in Newark, N.J. (around 1977).[2] Elkadi was president of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood from 1984 to 1994.[3]

A 1991 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood memo, which describes its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western [ad] civilization from within,” lists IMANA as one of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” The Islamic Society of North America lists IMANA as one of its “Constituent Organizations.”[4]
