Islamic State fighters holding out in the Philippines are using women as sex slaves and forcing the 100 remaining Christians to become human shields.

Reports of the horrific abuse come from those who have escaped Marawi City, when the insurgency began five weeks ago.

Most of the city’s 200,000 citizens have been able to escape from the brutal Maute group, as the supporters of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) call themselves.

“They are being forced to be sex slaves, forced to destroy the dignity of these women,” said army spokesman Jo-Ar Herrera, as reported by the Daily Mail. “This is what is happening inside, this is very evident … these are evil personalities.”

A request by terrorist leader Abdullah Maute to free a leading Christian leader, Father Teresito Soganub, in exchange for the terrorist’s parents who are being held by the police was denied.

Through a spokesman, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said no deals would be made or negotiations held with the terrorists as per official government policy.

Meanwhile, government bombing raids continue to ferret out the terrorists.
