ISIS is still holding out in the city of Marawi, according to a new propaganda video from the group. The clip shows its fighters firing at the Philippines army and claims they are in possession of two-thirds of the city.
Fighting is now in its fourth week. The army has so far been unable to dislodge the militants despite support from artillery and air support. Asked when the fighting would end, military spokesman Brigadier-General Restituto Padilla told press “I can’t give you an estimate because of compounding developments faced by ground commanders.”
They are also shown executing Christian prisoners by shooting them in the head.
