Iranian Regime Executes 43 People in Three Days

The Islamic Republic of Iran executed 43 people in a three-day period last week, according to the organization Iran Human Rights.

They majority were executed for drug-related offences.

Large numbers of those executed were hanged in the same two prisons.

On Monday April 13 and Tuesday 14 April 37 people were executed: 26 people in the Rajaishahr prison and 11 in the Ghezelhesar prison.  

On Wednesday 5 people were executed from Rajaishahr prison and one in the region of Shiraz.

The group Iran Human Rights issued a statement saying:

Iran Human Rights strongly condemns the wave of execution by the Iranian authorities and calls on the international community to react. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of IHR said: ‘Lack of condemnation by the international community sends the wrong signal to the Iranian authorities. The world must not shut its eyes on the Iranian authorities’ on going mass-executions’.”
