French authorities have arrested four more suspects linked to the shooting attacks on the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket in Paris, including a policewoman who is supected of leaking classified police information to her boyfriend, himself a terror suspect.
Those arrested are believed to be connected to the gunman Amedy Coulibaly who took 19 hostages in the Hyper Cacher store in Port de-Vincennes, Paris, on January 9, 2015, two days after the terrorist attack on the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo that killed 12, including several of France’s leading satirical cartoonists.
Coulibaly killed four of the hostages before he was himself shot and killed by police. He had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State shortly before carrying out his attack.
The newly arrested suspects include a former policewoman who is a recent convert to Islam. She had been dating another suspect, Amar, who who is believed to have acted as a lookout for Coulibaly and has since been imprisoned on drug charges. His girlfriend was working at a police intelligence center in the suburbs of Paris.
She is believed to have stolen Amar’s police file and given it to him and has since been suspended.
Six other people are currently under investigation in connection to the attacks.
