Egyptian journalist Rabab Azzam tells her personal account of being a victim of FGM (female genital mutilation) at age 13. She relates the physical pain, the humiliation and her rebellion and desire for revenge against her family afterwards, saying her family “denied me the right to be a full woman.” The story aired on Egyptian TV:
