ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi surfaces in a video on April 29, 2019. The video marks the first public sighting of al-Baghdadi in some five years. The United States says it will track down all ISIS leaders still alive.

While his location is unknown and clearly he is in hiding, the Islamic State “caliph” looks quite well in the 18-minute film.

The U.S. will take the battle wherever necessary to “ensure an enduring defeat of these terrorists and that any leaders who remain are delivered the justice that they deserve,” a State Department spokesperson said on the day the video was released.

Clarion has repeatedly maintained that ISIS is alive and well in numerous states and still poses a major threat to the West. “It’s not only the fighters and leaders we need to target but also the ideology that’s spread far wider than the physical reach of ‘paid-up’ ISIS members,” said Clarion Shillman Fellow and Arab Affairs Analyst Ran Meir.

Here’s a couple of minutes from the ISIS film titled “The Hospitality of the Emir of the Faithful” translated by Clarion:
