Conservative journalist Andy Ngo ended up in the hospital with a brain hemorrhage after being brutally beaten by members of the Far Left group Antifa.

Ngo, an editor at Quillette, was covering a “Him Too” rally in Portland, Oregon Saturday, June 29, 2019. Antifa members showed up as counter-demonstrators. The Him Too movement is a reaction to the #MeToo movement which saw women bringing accusations of sexual assault without the need for proof. Besides accurate accusations that sought to right past wrongs, many men ended up having their lives ruined by false accusations as a result of the movement.

Videos show Ngo was attacked by pepper or bear spray as well as eggs and “milkshakes” that police later said contained cement.

Before, off camera, he suffered kicks and punches to his head. “Attacked by antifa. Bleeding. They stole my camera equipment. No police until after. waiting for ambulance. If you have evidence Of attack please help,” Ngo live tweeted while he was waiting for paramedics.

Ngo was worried before Saturday’s rally that Antifa would target him as they had in November 2018 at another Him Too rally. Ngo is known for speaking out against the Antifa movement.

“I was assaulted by a mob of masked individuals in black. They also targeted my equipment. They called me a fascist & Islamophobe,” Ngo wrote at the time of his previous assault. “They said my parents & grandparents would be ashamed of me. It feels surreal to be treated this way by people who don’t even know me.”

Ngo is openly gay and the son of Vietnamese immigrants.

Antifa has a history of using violence against those who disagree with them. They previously commandeered streets in downtown Portland while the police were given orders to stand down, a decision supported by the mayor. At one point, activists chased down a 74-year old man after protesters pounded on his car and broke a window. A woman in a wheelchair was verbally harassed.

At another demonstration, Antifa was even more violent:

Antifa was also responsible for the 2017 violent demonstration and subsequent riots in Berkeley. Its members were reacting to conservative pundit Milo Yiannopoulos being invited to speak on campus. During the riots, Antifa members smashed the windows of a Marine Corps recruiting office after sucker-punching someone who voiced opposition to them.
