Washington Man Sentenced for Pipe Bomb Attack

  • Steven Goldstine, 55, of Everett, Wash., was sentenced on December 15, 2025, to five years in prison and three years of supervised release for a racially motivated pipe bomb attack.  
  • On December 31, 2024, he detonated a pipe bomb under a Black couple’s car, destroying it, then called the victims to gloat using racial slurs; no injuries were reported.  
  • Prosecutors described the attack as a hate-fueled act of violence, and Goldstine—a convicted felon with prior offenses including arson—was legally barred from possessing explosives or firearms. Read More
