Leader of White Supremacist Group Pleads Guilty to Soliciting Hate Crimes

  • Michail Chkhikvishvili, a Georgian national and leader of the international white supremacist group Maniac Murder Cult, pleaded guilty in Brooklyn federal court to soliciting hate crimes and distributing instructions for making bombs and ricin, targeting Jewish communities and racial minorities in the US.
  • From July 2022, Chkhikvishvili plotted a New Year’s Eve attack in New York City involving a Santa Claus figure distributing poisoned candy laced with ricin. He communicated plans via encrypted Telegram to an undercover FBI employee starting in November 2023 and shared his “Hater’s Handbook” manifesto promoting school shootings since September 2021.
  • Chkhikvishvili’s incitement led to a January 2025 school shooting in Nashville, Tenn., by a 17-year-old Maniac Murder Cult affiliate, and an August 2024 stabbing outside a mosque in Turkey. He was extradited from Moldova in May 2025 after global recruitment efforts. Read More
