Protesters lay on the street symbolizing Palestinians killed by Israel's bombing in Gaza during a demonstration in front of the White House in Washington, DC, on July 16, 2014. Israel's campaign, which entered its 10th day on Thursday, has killed 223 Palestinians so far, with a Gaza-based human rights group saying over 80 percent of them were civilians. • Anti-Israel protesters vandalized the gates of the White House with red paint and attempted to scale the fence around the president’s residence early Sunday morning. They also placed Palestinian flags and signs on monuments in Washington DC.
  • Video footage from the scene showed protesters climbing the White House fence while waving Palestinian flags and shouting profanities at security officers. A poster with a “Wanted” message featuring photos of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris was placed on the fence.
  • The riot was organized by the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, who stated that hundreds of thousands of people participated in the event. The protesters used the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which is associated with the elimination of the State of Israel.
