  • In a Congressional hearing Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) got TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew to admit that the Tik Tok app tracks users’ keystrokes.
  • Chew noted that other social media companies do the same thing. The difference is that unlike U.S.-based social media companies, Tik Tok is under the authority of the Chinese Communist Party and is not subject to U.S. laws or regulations.
