Justin Gray, 40, of San Pedro, Calif., an associate of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang, was convicted Aug. 26 of two counts of murder in aid of racketeering for executing two men in Lomita, Calif. According to court documents and trial evidence, Gray carried out the Oct. 4, 2020, killings on orders from Aryan Brotherhood member Francis Clement, who was incarcerated at Kern Valley State Prison.
Prosecutors said Gray lured the victims from San Diego to Lomita and, with assistance from another Aryan Brotherhood associate, shot both men in the head. The killing order was issued over “disrespect” one victim had shown the Aryan Brotherhood.
Gray is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 23 and faces a mandatory life sentence. His trial was part of a broader investigation in which Gray and 20 other defendants were charged with offenses including RICO conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering and narcotics crimes connected to Aryan Brotherhood activities. Clement was previously convicted of racketeering conspiracy and five counts of murder in aid of racketeering.
