For Adults: The Longer The Password, The Better
Use at least 15 characters when setting up a new password. Longer passwords are exponentially harder to crack with brute-force attacks than shorter complex ones. Stringing together unrelated words, such as “cassette lava baby,” to create a long, memorable passphrase will make a password extremely resistant to guessing.
For Families: Cover Your Cameras
In today’s world, nearly every device comes with a built-in camera or has one connected to it. The problem is that these cameras give hackers a direct window into your private life, letting them secretly watch your every move and capture highly sensitive images. To stay protected, especially on laptops, simply get a cheap physical webcam cover or slide blocker and keep it closed whenever the camera isn’t in use.
