  • Abdisatar Ahmed Hassan, 23, of Minneapolis, was sentenced April 22, 2026, to 8.5 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to attempting to provide material support to ISIS. Hassan had consumed and reposted ISIS propaganda, downloaded weapons and explosives manuals, and publicly called for jihad and a caliphate.
  • Hassan contacted ISIS recruiters, quit his job, emptied his savings, and purchased a one-way ticket out of the country. He was denied boarding twice at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in December 2024.
  • Arrested Feb. 27, 2025, Hassan had posted ISIS videos alongside a homemade flag and praised the January 2025 New Orleans ISIS attack. He was found in possession of related materials at the time of his arrest. READ MORE
