  • Tyler W. Massengill, a 33-year-old man from Illinois, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for the arson of the Planned Parenthood Peoria Health Center in Peoria, Ill.
  • Massengill pleaded guilty to malicious use of fire and an explosive to damage and attempt to damage the health center. He set fire to the center because he believed his ex-partner had received an abortion there and was angry about it.
  • The arson resulted in significant damage to the Peoria Health Center, obstructing patients’ access to reproductive health services. Massengill was ordered to pay $1.45 million in restitution and was condemned for his violent actions by various law enforcement officials.  Read More
