- Suleiman Othman, 28, accused of assaulting a Jewish man for wearing an Israeli military hoodie in Dec. 2021, has struck a plea deal after pleading guilty to attempted third-degree assault as a hate crime in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
- Othman, a Palestinian activist from Staten Island, punched the victim and threw an iced coffee at him after making derogatory remarks about Jews. He was arrested after being caught on surveillance cameras.
