Imam Ali Seminary is a Shiite howza (religious school) located in Adelanto, California. Imam Ali prepares students to go overseas to study in Iran and Iraq. [1]
The seminary’s staff consists of extremist sheikhs Mirza Muhammad Baig and Ali Abdur Rasheed.
Clarion Project has reported on how Baig is a supporter of jihad. “If those people who do jihad in Allah’s way, maybe they might be called terrorists by this government. But you see those who do jihad are those who are esteemed by us. And if you do not hold them up like that, then we have nothing to do with Qu’ran,†he said in a 2008 speech. [2]
Clarion Project also discovered that Imam Ali Seminary’s students develop radical views themselves. Amir Khan studied at Imam Ali Seminary and posts positive items about Hassan Nasrallah and Ruhollah Khomeini frequently. [3]
