The Quran Institute of America is a school located in Detroit with the stated goal of providing Islamic knowledge for communities all over the United States and teaching the memorization of the Quran to individuals between the ages 10-18. The Quran Institute’s website claims that it was established in 2012 [1], but other reports claim the Quran Institute was founded in 2005 [2]. The school has a connected mosque, Al Furqad. The mosque came into existence following a move by the Institute into a new building.

The Quran Institute is strongly associated with the Muslim Brotherhood affiliated Muslim American Society (MAS) and is sometimes referred to as The “MAS Quran Institute” [3]. MAS was identified as a Muslim Brotherhood entity from evidence presented at the Hamas-fundraising trial of the Holy Land Foundation [4].
