On November 29, 2013, Dhaouadi posted a link on Facebook to an article titled, â€œUnpacking Anti-Muslim Brotherhood Discourse.â€ He commented, â€œIf only some of us would listen!â€ The previous day, he promoted an event with a founder of Tunisiaâ€™s Islamist party, Ennahda.
On December 22, 2013, CAIR-CTâ€™s fundraised with the assistance of the radical Imam Siraj Wahhaj ofÂ Masjid At-TaqwaÂ and Hassan Shibly of Â CAIR-Tampa, another individual with a history of extremist statements. The theme was, â€œIslamophobia: 3 Faces of the New Racism.”
In August 2013, CAIR-CT protested the Egyptian governmentâ€™s crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood. Dhaouadi said the U.S. should retaliate by cutting financial aid. He did not call for cuts when the Brotherhood controlled Egypt.
